Post Conviction Premieres at the St. Louis International Film Festival

Roosevelt Myles visits Jacky Burks at Danville Correctional Center in Danville, IL

We’re proud to announce the world premiere of Post Conviction at the St. Louis International Film Festival (SLIFF).

Directed by award-winning filmmaker Margaret Byrne, Post Conviction follows the extraordinary journey of Roosevelt Myles, a Chicago man who fought for decades to clear his name after a wrongful conviction, and Jacky Burks, who was coerced into confessing to a crime he didn’t commit. Filmed over the course of five years, the documentary captures their courage, resilience, and pursuit of justice in a system designed to resist accountability.

The film opens with the powerful testimonies of several incarcerated men who describe the abuse they endured at the hands of retired Chicago Police Lt. Anthony Wojcik, marking the first time his pattern of corruption was exposed in court.

Join us for the world premiere screening at:
Chase Park Plaza Cinema
212 N Kingshighway Blvd, St. Louis, MO 63108
November 9, 2025 — 12:00 PM

The screening will be followed by a Q&A with filmmakers Margaret Byrne and Latesha Dickerson, film participant Roosevelt Myles, and attorney Ashley Cohen.
